Want to know what makes a great photo location?  How do you decide where to have your Adelaide wedding photo locations?

Is it really all about Location Location Location?
When you’re looking for the perfect memories of your special day – some people put a lot of emphasis on the location.  The location is certainly an important factor in the end result – but believe it or not – you can create perfect memories at almost any location!
And Adelaide, as small and quaint as it may be, has so many hidden gems – most of them within a stones-throw of the city.

Bright Sunny Days
Think about what time of the year it will be when you need to have your photos taken.  Is it going to be bright and sunny, with blue skies and no clouds for miles?  This might seem like the best day for photos – and in many cases it will be, but be sure not to rely on getting all of your perfect images captured whilst standing out in the sun.  Plan to find somewhere nice and shady.  Standing in the harsh sun can cause unwanted shadowing of faces and accentuate aging skin, bags under eyes, and other undesirables.  Somewhere like the Adelaide Botanic Gardens is perfect on a sunny day as there is always shade to be found.  Even the Morton Bay Fig trees on Plane Tree Drive make for sensational photos on a bright sunny day as they are well shaded and magnificent to look at!
Overcast.  Clouds. Not too hot, not too cold.
These days are a photographers dream!  The lighting is often perfect – with very few shadows causing havoc in the photos.  You can choose just about anywhere on a day like this.  Pick a beach for example.  Head down to Largs Bay for a slightly less populated beach, or the iconic Glenelg Jetty or down to Semaphore for more populated fun locations.
Go for a wonder around Mt Lofty or Waterfall Gully.  Barossa and McLarren Vale have lashings of wineries – any of which would provide a gorgeous backdrop for a gorgeous overcast day!
Rainy Winter Days.
Don’t worry.  It’s not all doom and gloom just because the weather decides to be inconsiderate.  In fact, you can achieve many wonderful memories made from winter wonderlands.  Walk through the eastern end of the city for some amazing wet-look photos.  Go for a wonder down Rundle Mall.
Walk along the River Torren bike track – and even find a puddle to splash in.  Have a bit of fun!
The Iconics.
Of course, there are plenty of wedding photo locations across Adelaide that could work in almost any weather – or at least worth a try!
How about the gorgeous St Pauls Cathedral at North Adelaide.  Wonder down the street and you’ve got a playground of backdrops around Adelaide Oval, the new footbridge, the rotunda at Elder park, just to name a few quick spots.  Hop on a paddle boat for a bit of fun if you’ve got enough time!
Keep wondering down North Terrace and turn right to incorporate the Adelaide Tram, head into the train station or the Adelaide Casino, and of course, there’s Parliament house there too.
Turn and walk the other way up North Terrace and you’ll find yourself a host of backdrops from the museum and library through to the university and more.
